They need to bring in scientists for political flip flopping?

Political flip flops
OK so I am up today and the first thing i see on my front page is this well thought out headline:

"Political flip flops not necessarily dishonest SCIENTISTS say."
(check out the full article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20080825/sc_livescience/politicalflipflopsfromliestolegitimatechange)

This brilliantly thought out article actually states that changing one's mind is part of human nature. That our brain can do this....ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!?! It is as though they believe that the brains in our heads are comparable to the green mush that comes out of a lobster's head.

Not always out of dishonesty? Of course not! It's out of wanting to be the F$%#&ING PRESIDENT! If they see public perception changing why would they stay the course? Hasn't worked very well with the last president now has it?

What is this American bullshit want for their politicians to pick something and never change? Unwavering. You hear that one a lot. They are unwavering in their position. Well why can't they waver? Haven't these people ever heard of thinking things through? It's usually not an informed decision either! It's usually along some vague party line. Then when they get the information and find out that what they chose will turn the economy in their part of the country to nothing more than corn stands and moonshine jug bands, they still prefer to stay with that mindset for fear they'd lose votes!

This is actually in the article:

"Flip-flopping, at its most fundamental level, means changing one's mind or position on an issue, said Peter Dreier, a sociologist and political scientist at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
No wavering"

Do they actually think we can't figure out this metaphor on our own?

They go on:
"In addition to coordination, Fowler explained, coming up with an optimal answer, for instance by weighing the pros and cons of each stance, is important in decision-making."

HOLY SHIT! Give him the Pulitzer! What a breakthrough in science and literature!

And this all stems from the stupid Offshore oil shit. Who can't figure out that this is a dumb idea that won't help gas prices FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS, while on top of that there are hundreds of places ON LAND in the US. Not in my backyard everyone says. Well you know what jackasses? There is a reason we have developed this saying for things that don't mix: "it's like Oil and water".
