So today is another nice day outside... stupid day if you're following the RNC.
Another stupid article comes out about how 'hundreds' of people (it's over thousands) have been protesting about 'poverty and homelessness' (it's about the American economy, the Iraq War and the Neo- conservative agenda) and that '3 people have been arrested' (hundreds have been arrested including JOURNALISTS. 3 that work for democracynow.org alone, where you can view footage of police beating them, a writer for the washington post, which is a republican paper, and numerous pictures in AP of people washing tear gas out of their eyes and being held on the floor and cuffed.)
Obviously the Republican National Convention (RNC) will have tight security because a lot of people are... well pretty much super pissed. Watching cable news now is like watching one of those dinosaurs from Jurassic Park that dances but then shoots burning acid in your eye and eats your soul.
Minnesota has police from all over the state for the convention. Police now outnumber protesters but they have gotten pretty good at that over the Bush years. Shit think about the fact that nobody shot Bush but they worry that Obama won't make it to his first day in office. If nobody can get that shaved monkey I think Obama will at least be able to get behind a secret service guy.
The only formal charge they've laid (and keep in mind they've arrested lots) is to a guy who set a fire in a trash can and pushed it towards officers arresting other people! First off I understand now where they got these crazy homeless men ideas. Any city person has seen the burning garbage guy. However the charge they gave this non homeless californian?: Obstructing the legal process by failing to allow them to arrest others.
Fuck them, fuck that and fuck the idea in the ear. They are arresting people saying they are homeless and arresting the press even if they have ID? Isn't that what they were whining about a couple weeks ago with the Chinese police at the Olympics? Ooooh their human rights records! Whats else will we copy from the chinese? A star who is young but made to look older than her innocent looks? (see Lindsay Lohan, Dakota Fanning, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus etc.)
When I started this I had a few different things to cut apart from what I saw just today. Now i have gotten so hyped up that it's left to just this... oh no wait i got it... THE PRAYER AT THE RNC.
For fuck sakes this could not have been lamer shit. Just because John McCain switched his pro-choice stance does not mean he needs to be incorporated into every prayer. 2 weeks ago the religious right hated him. Now because he actually found a woman who disrespects other women as much as he does they all of a sudden love McCain? It's nuts. Isn't this the party of 'family values'? Well Sarah Palin is a woman who has 5 kids: one 17 year old who just had a kid and a 4 month old with special needs and she is leaving them in fucking Alaska to go out on the campaign trail saying she is a good ol fashioned hockey mom. She is a right wing, gun toting, anti-feminist posing as a feminist with stylish glasses and nice highlights.
You know what I think about that prayer? HOLY SHIT.
